Job Description

SIBU COMMUNITY HOSPITAL is a 220-bed private hospital serving central Sarawak, accredited under the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health, with ward-level nursing leadership treated as a key part of care quality. We invest in our nurse managers because strong ward leadership underpins safe, consistent patient care. It is a genuine leadership role for an experienced nurse ready to step up, with the support, training, and authority to lead a busy ward well and to develop the junior nurses coming up behind them.

We're hiring a Ward Nurse Manager to lead nursing staff on our medical ward, overseeing rosters, patient care standards, and junior nurse development across a busy 30-bed unit. You'll balance staffing, mentor junior nurses, and keep care standards high while liaising closely with attending doctors. It suits an experienced nurse with leadership ability who can make sound staffing calls under pressure, develop their team, and take real ownership of care quality and smooth day-to-day running on a demanding medical ward.

  • Monitor patient care standards and address any gaps promptly

  • Handle escalated patient or family concerns on the ward

What we offer

  • Medical benefits for staff and immediate family
  • Leadership training programme
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Clear progression

  • At least 5 years of nursing experience, with 1 year in a leadership role
  • Strong roster planning and team management skills
  • Comfortable making difficult staffing calls during short-staffed shifts
  • Calm, decisive, and supportive leader
