Kedai Runcit Makmur Sarawak is a grocery and household goods retailer with outlets across Sibu and neighbouring towns. In grocery retail, how products are presented directly drives what actually sells — a well-planned shelf and an eye-catching promotional display make a real, measurable difference to the day's takings. That makes our visual merchandiser a genuine contributor to sales rather than mere decoration, and the role has plenty of room to grow in scope and responsibility as the business expands.

We need a Visual Merchandiser to plan shelf layouts, promotional displays, and seasonal decor across our Sibu-area outlets. The role suits a creative, practical person with a good eye who is genuinely happy to travel between outlets and get hands-on with building displays. You'll shape how our stores look and how products are presented to shoppers across the group, working closely with store managers to feature promotions, new lines, and seasonal ranges to their best advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and set shelf layouts to maximise product visibility and sales
• Design and build promotional and seasonal displays across the outlets
• Ensure signage, pricing, and display materials are accurate and tidy
• Travel regularly between outlets to maintain consistent display standards
• Work with store managers to feature promotions and new products well
• Refresh displays regularly to keep the stores looking current and appealing
• Manage the inventory of display materials, props, and fixtures
• Gather feedback on which displays drive the strongest sales response

Requirements

• Diploma in Retail, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• A genuine creative eye for layout, colour, and product display
• Practical, hands-on, and comfortable with physical display setup
• Willing to travel regularly between outlets in the Sibu area
• Own or reliable access to transport
