Tax Executive

Borneo Tax Consultants is a boutique tax advisory practice serving contractors and SMEs in the Bintulu industrial zone. We handle corporate and personal tax compliance, LHDN correspondence, and tax planning for a client base built largely on referrals from the oil, gas, and construction sectors. As a small and focused firm, we give our executives genuine ownership of client relationships rather than siloed, repetitive processing work, and we support them toward the technical depth that leads to a tax advisory career.

We're hiring a Tax Executive to prepare corporate and individual tax computations for our SME and contractor clients, manage e-filing, and handle day-to-day LHDN correspondence. The role suits someone with a year or two of tax compliance experience who wants broader client exposure and a clear route toward higher-value advisory work. You'll work closely with the principal on more complex assignments and gradually take ownership of your own portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare corporate and individual income tax computations and their supporting schedules
• File tax returns accurately via LHDN e-filing, well ahead of statutory due dates
• Respond to LHDN queries and desk audit requests on behalf of clients promptly
• Track and actively manage tax filing deadlines across the entire client portfolio
• Advise clients on tax instalment obligations under CP204 and prepare revisions where needed
• Assist the principal on tax planning, restructuring, and advisory assignments
• Maintain accurate, well-organised, and audit-ready client tax records and files
• Keep up to date with changes in tax rates, incentives, and LHDN procedures

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation, or equivalent professional progress
• One to two years of corporate and personal tax compliance experience preferred
• Familiar with LHDN e-filing systems and current Malaysian tax rates
• Detail-oriented, methodical, and reliable with strong follow-through on deadlines
• Good written English and Bahasa Malaysia for client and LHDN correspondence
