Store Manager

KENYALANG MART RETAIL GROUP is a homegrown supermarket chain with 14 outlets across Kuching, Samarahan, and Serian. Our store managers are effectively the general managers of their outlets, with real ownership of sales, people, and standards, and a clear, well-trodden path into regional operations and head-office roles for those who deliver strong results.

We're hiring a Store Manager for one of our Kuching supermarket outlets, responsible for daily operations, staff scheduling, and shrinkage control across a team of 25. The role suits an experienced retail leader who can drive sales while keeping standards, costs, and people firmly under control. You'll own the performance of the entire outlet, be personally accountable for its results, and have the autonomy and support to run it well as if it were your own business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations, opening, closing, and merchandising standards
• Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance across a team of 25
• Monitor stock levels, wastage, and shrinkage and act decisively to reduce them
• Ensure pricing, promotions, and displays are executed accurately throughout
• Drive sales targets and local promotional activity to grow the outlet
• Handle escalated customer complaints professionally and fairly
• Report weekly sales, wastage, and shrinkage figures to head office
• Uphold health, safety, and food handling standards across the store

Requirements

• At least 3 years of retail experience, including 1 year in a management role
• Strong leadership, delegation, and people management skills
• Comfortable with retail POS, inventory, and reporting systems
• Commercially minded, with a firm grip on costs and shrinkage
• Calm and effective handling customers, staff, and busy trading periods
