Speech Therapist

We're hiring a Speech Therapist to manage a caseload of paediatric and post-stroke adult patients referred from local hospitals across Miri, with therapy plans tailored to each patient's specific needs. You'll assess patients, deliver individual and group sessions, and track progress closely while liaising with hospitals and caregivers. It suits a patient, adaptable therapist who is comfortable across both paediatric and adult work, communicates warmly with families, and takes genuine satisfaction in the steady, sometimes slow progress that meaningful speech and language therapy involves.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients and design tailored therapy plans for children and adults
• Deliver individual and small group speech therapy sessions
• Track and document patient progress against therapy goals
• Liaise closely with referring hospitals and parents or caregivers
• Adjust therapy plans as patients progress or plateau
• Coach caregivers on supporting therapy at home
• Maintain clear, accurate clinical records

Requirements

• Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• Registered with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council
• Experience with both paediatric and adult caseloads preferred
• Patient and adaptable when working with slow-progress cases
• Warm, clear communicator with families and caregivers
