We're hiring a School Counsellor to support students' emotional wellbeing and academic guidance, working closely with form teachers and parents on both everyday and more serious concerns. You'll provide one-to-one counselling, run wellbeing workshops, and liaise sensitively with families, referring on where needed. It suits a warm, discreet, qualified counsellor who is comfortable working with both children and teenagers, can handle sensitive situations with care and confidentiality, and wants to be a trusted, steadying presence in a busy, caring school community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one counselling support to students
• Work with form teachers to identify students needing support
• Run wellbeing workshops for year groups as needed
• Liaise sensitively with parents on student welfare matters
• Maintain confidential, accurate counselling records
• Refer serious cases to external specialists where appropriate
• Contribute to the school's pastoral care programme

Requirements

• Degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field
• Registered counsellor with the Malaysian Board of Counsellors preferred
• Comfortable working with both children and teenagers
