Job Description

Rajang Infrastructure Group builds and maintains bridges, jetties, and rural roads along the Rajang basin, working closely with state agencies on connectivity projects for interior communities that often have limited site access. Safety in these remote, challenging conditions is demanding and genuinely important, and our safety officers are central to getting everyone home safely. It is a meaningful role for an experienced, DOSH-certified safety professional who is comfortable working across difficult rural sites and takes real ownership of the safety culture on the ground.

We're hiring a Safety Officer to oversee compliance across our bridge and rural road projects along the Rajang basin, with travel to sites outside Sibu town required as part of the role. You'll run inspections, deliver inductions, investigate incidents, and advise on safe access for remote river and jungle sites. It suits a certified safety professional who is practical, resilient, and comfortable working in demanding conditions, and who takes pride in keeping workers safe on genuinely challenging infrastructure projects far from town.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site safety inspections across active projects
  • Deliver safety inductions for new workers and subcontractors
  • Investigate incidents and prepare clear reports for management
  • Maintain safety documentation for DOSH compliance
  • Track corrective actions from previous audits through to closure
  • Advise on safe access arrangements for remote river and jungle sites
  • Promote consistent safe work practices across all crews

What we offer

  • Travel and site allowances
  • EPF, SOCSO, and medical coverage
  • Meaningful rural infrastructure work
  • Safety certification support

Requirements

Requirements

  • NIOSH Safety Officer certification, mandatory per DOSH requirements
  • At least 2 years of safety supervision on civil or infrastructure sites
  • Willing to travel to rural project sites, sometimes overnight
  • Comfortable working across sites with limited road access
  • Practical, resilient, and firm on safety standards
