Radio Announcer – Bahasa Sarawak & English (Part-time)

Sarawak Broadcast Media Group operates two regional radio stations serving listeners right across Sarawak. Our stations are genuinely local — the music, the talk, and the language all reflect the communities we broadcast to — which is exactly why bilingual announcers who can switch naturally between English and Bahasa Sarawak are so valuable to us. We're a lively, close-knit team that takes local broadcasting seriously and gives our announcers real room to develop their own on-air voice and style.

We're looking for a part-time Radio Announcer who is comfortable hosting live segments in both English and Bahasa Sarawak, with evening slots available. The role suits a confident, warm presenter who can connect naturally with a local audience and think quickly on their feet while live on air. You'll host segments, engage directly with listeners, read live announcements and promos, and become a recognisable, trusted voice for one of Sarawak's own homegrown radio stations.

Key responsibilities

• Host live on-air segments fluently in both English and Bahasa Sarawak
• Prepare talking points, links, and segment run-sheets ahead of air time
• Engage with listener call-ins and messages professionally and warmly
• Coordinate closely with the production team on segment timing and cues
• Read advertisements, announcements, and station promos cleanly and clearly
• Keep every segment lively, appropriate, on-brand, and on schedule
• Contribute ideas for segments, features, and listener engagement

Requirements

• A confident, clear, and engaging speaking voice in English and Bahasa Sarawak
• Prior broadcasting, MC, or presenting experience is a distinct advantage

• Available for regular evening on-air slots
