Project Manager – Construction

We're hiring a Project Manager to run a mixed residential and commercial fit-out project in Kuching from groundbreaking through handover, managing subcontractors, budget, and client relations directly. You'll own the schedule and cost, chair site meetings, resolve escalations, and be the final decision-maker on day-to-day site issues. It suits an experienced construction PM who is comfortable carrying full responsibility for a project's delivery, and who can balance commercial discipline with the relationships that keep subcontractors and clients working well together.

Key responsibilities

• Own the project schedule, budget, and subcontractor coordination
• Chair weekly site meetings and resolve escalations decisively
• Report progress directly to the Managing Director
• Approve subcontractor payment claims against verified progress
• Manage client communications and change requests
• Oversee handover documentation and defects rectification
• Negotiate subcontractor scope and pricing for upcoming work packages

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• At least 6 years of construction experience, with 2 years as Project Manager
• Strong budget and subcontractor management skills
• Comfortable being the final decision-maker on day-to-day site issues
• Confident managing client relationships directly
