Piano & Music Tutor (Part-time)

Bintulu Bright Future Learning Hub runs music and enrichment programmes alongside its core tuition offering in Bintulu, with a small but dedicated group of returning music students. We keep music teaching personal and encouraging, and our tutors are trusted to shape their lessons around each student's pace and goals. It is a lovely role for a patient, encouraging music teacher who enjoys nurturing students from their very first notes through to exam-level playing, and who wants flexible afternoon and weekend hours in a friendly centre.

We need a part-time Piano and Music Tutor for individual and small group lessons, in the afternoons and at weekends, teaching students ranging from complete beginners to exam-track learners. You'll deliver lessons, prepare students for grade exams where relevant, and keep parents updated on progress. It suits a patient, encouraging tutor with solid piano qualifications who enjoys working with a range of ages and abilities, can keep students motivated through slow patches, and takes pride in helping them build genuine musical confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual and small group piano lessons
• Prepare students for grade examinations where relevant
• Track student progress and communicate with parents
• Maintain instruments and teaching materials in good order
• Adjust lesson plans for students preparing for upcoming recitals
• Keep beginners and exam-level students alike motivated
• Create a warm, encouraging learning atmosphere

Requirements

• Grade 6 or higher piano qualification, or equivalent teaching experience
• Patient with young beginners through to exam-level students
• Available weekday afternoons and Saturdays
