Network Engineer

SANTUBONG SOFTWARE SDN BHD is setting up a new data centre annex in Kota Samarahan to support its growing hosting client base, alongside its core Kuching engineering team. As the company's infrastructure footprint grows, we need a dedicated network engineer to build and run it properly. It is a great opportunity to take real ownership of a network from its early days, shape how it is designed and monitored, and grow with the infrastructure as the hosted-client load increases.

We need a Network Engineer to design and maintain the network infrastructure for the new annex, supporting our expanding hosted-client footprint from the ground up. You'll be hands-on with both design and physical installation, and closely involved in keeping everything monitored, documented, and reliable. It is a role for someone who enjoys building solid foundations, troubleshooting methodically, and taking pride in a network that simply works, day in and day out, for the clients who depend on it.

Key responsibilities

• Design and configure routing and switching infrastructure for the new annex
• Maintain uptime monitoring and alerting for all network hardware
• Perform rack, patching, and cable work during equipment installs
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues escalated from the helpdesk
• Document network topology and maintain a clear change history
• Support capacity planning as hosted client load grows
• Coordinate with the ISP on circuit provisioning and outage escalations

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Networking, IT, or a related field
• CCNA or equivalent practical routing and switching knowledge
• Comfortable with hands-on rack and structured cabling work
• Willing to be on-call for annex network incidents
• Methodical and thorough with documentation
