Mechanical Maintenance Planner

BINTULU LNG SUPPORT SDN BHD has supported LNG facility operations and maintenance in Bintulu since 2003, running a dedicated planning desk for its maintenance contracts to keep backlog under control. Good maintenance planning is what keeps critical equipment reliable and downtime predictable, and it is treated here as a genuine discipline in its own right. It is a strong role for an organised planner who enjoys the balancing act of matching work, parts, and windows, and who takes satisfaction in a well-run, well-documented maintenance programme.

We need a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to schedule preventive and corrective maintenance work orders across our client's rotating equipment fleet, balancing urgency against available maintenance windows. You'll coordinate spare parts, prioritise by criticality, and keep the CMMS accurate and current. It suits a methodical, well-organised planner who understands rotating equipment and can juggle competing maintenance priorities without letting the backlog spiral, keeping the plant reliable while making the most of every available maintenance window.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule preventive maintenance work orders efficiently
• Coordinate spare parts availability with the warehouse team
• Prioritise corrective maintenance based on equipment criticality
• Track the maintenance backlog and report trends monthly
• Update the CMMS accurately with completed work order details
• Liaise with operations on planned maintenance windows
• Balance competing maintenance priorities against limited windows

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years of maintenance planning experience, rotating equipment preferred
• Familiar with CMMS platforms such as SAP PM or similar
• Able to balance competing maintenance priorities against limited windows
• Organised, methodical, and detail-focused
