Lodge Caretaker

Pelagus Rapids Resort is a small riverside resort near the Pelagus Rapids, popular with longhouse-tour travellers and run largely by a single resident caretaker. It is a role for a genuinely self-reliant, capable person who enjoys the quiet and beauty of a remote riverside setting and takes pride in looking after a property largely on their own. If you are practical, hospitable, and comfortable handling most day-to-day issues independently, it offers a distinctive lifestyle role with on-site accommodation in one of Sarawak's most scenic river locations.

We need a Lodge Caretaker to manage day-to-day upkeep, guest check-in, and basic maintenance at our small riverside property, with accommodation provided on-site for the right candidate. You'll handle check-ins, routine upkeep, minor repairs, and coordinate boat transfers for guests. It suits a practical, self-reliant person who is comfortable living on-site at a remote riverside location, can handle most day-to-day issues without immediate backup, and takes genuine pride in keeping a small resort welcoming, tidy, and well-maintained for its visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage guest check-in and basic front-desk duties
• Carry out routine property upkeep and minor repairs
• Maintain grounds and common areas to a tidy standard
• Coordinate boat transfers with local operators for guests
• Handle basic guest requests independently given the remote setting
• Keep the property secure, clean, and welcoming
