We're hiring a Loan Officer to assess member loan applications, from small personal loans to housing loans, and to manage the disbursement process from start to finish. You'll be a front-line face of the cooperative, so a clear, patient manner and sound credit judgement matter here in equal measure. It is a role for someone who wants their financial services work to have a direct, visible benefit for the local community rather than an anonymous corporate client base.

Key responsibilities

• Assess member loan applications carefully against the cooperative's lending criteria
• Explain loan terms, interest, and repayment schedules clearly and patiently to members
• Process loan disbursements and set up accurate repayment arrangements
• Follow up sensitively but firmly on overdue repayments and arrears
• Recommend fair restructuring for members facing genuine repayment difficulty
• Maintain complete, compliant loan documentation for every case handled
• Support the manager with periodic loan book, arrears, and provisioning reporting
• Uphold the cooperative's member-first values in every interaction

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Finance, Banking, or a related field
• At least 1 year of loans or credit assessment experience
• Comfortable explaining loan terms clearly and patiently to members
• Sound judgement and a genuine member-first, service-oriented attitude
• Good spoken Bahasa Malaysia, English, and ideally local dialects
