IT Helpdesk Analyst

Baram Data Systems is a small data and systems integration shop serving oil and gas back-office clients in Miri. We need an IT Helpdesk Analyst to handle first-line support tickets for our oil and gas back-office clients, covering software issues, account resets, and basic hardware troubleshooting, mostly resolved without ever leaving the desk. It is a role for someone patient, methodical, and clear in their communication, who takes pride in closing tickets properly and keeping clients informed. Strong performers here have a clear path into more advanced technical and systems roles within the team.

Key responsibilities

• Log and triage incoming support tickets across email and phone promptly
• Reset accounts and troubleshoot common software issues remotely
• Escalate hardware and network problems to the appropriate technician with clear notes
• Keep clients calmly updated on ticket status right through to resolution
• Maintain accurate records of recurring issues for management reporting
• Support basic onboarding and offboarding of client staff accounts
• Flag patterns in recurring tickets that suggest a deeper systems issue

Requirements

• Diploma in IT or equivalent hands-on support experience
• Comfortable troubleshooting Windows and basic network issues remotely
• Clear written English for accurate ticket documentation
• Patient, methodical, and genuinely customer-focused approach to problem-solving
• Willing to learn and grow toward more technical work
