Investment Analyst
KUCHING INVESTMENT PARTNERS · Banking & Financial Services
Job Description
KUCHING INVESTMENT PARTNERS is an independent wealth advisory firm managing investment and retirement planning for professionals and SME owners across Kuching. We are deliberately fee-transparent and advice-led rather than product-driven, which means our analysts genuinely research what is best for the client rather than whatever pays the highest commission. The team is small, collaborative, and growing steadily on the strength of client referrals, and analysts here work close to real portfolios rather than abstract models.
We're hiring an Investment Analyst to research unit trust and equity products and support our advisors in preparing client portfolio recommendations. It is an ideal role for someone with a couple of years in investment research or wealth management who wants to work with clients' actual portfolios and outcomes. You'll be central to the quarterly review process, to our product due diligence, and to keeping every piece of advice we give grounded in current, accurate market data.
Key responsibilities
- Research and continuously monitor unit trust, equity, and fixed income fund performance
- Prepare portfolio analysis and recommendation reports for the client-facing advisory team
- Track regulatory, tax, and market developments relevant to the products we recommend
- Support quarterly client portfolio reviews, rebalancing proposals, and performance reporting
- Maintain accurate fund performance tracking spreadsheets, dashboards, and comparisons
- Screen new investment products rigorously against the firm's due-diligence checklist
- Prepare clear, client-friendly summaries that translate complex investment information
- Support advisors in preparing for client meetings with well-organised data packs
What we offer
- Study support for CFP/RFP qualifications
- Performance bonus
- Medical coverage
- Hybrid working arrangement
Requirements
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline
- One to two years of experience in investment research or wealth management
- Strong Excel and quantitative financial analysis skills
- Working toward CFP or RFP certification, or genuinely willing to start
- Clear written communication and strong attention to detail
