Instrumentation Technician

BINTULU LNG SUPPORT SDN BHD maintains and services LNG facility instrumentation and control systems for clients across the Bintulu industrial zone, with a technician bench that has grown steadily since 2003. We keep critical plant instrumentation accurate and reliable, which is demanding, technical work that clients depend on completely. It is a strong environment for a hands-on technician who takes pride in precision, enjoys troubleshooting real faults, and wants to build deep expertise in instrumentation and control within a stable, well-established operation.

We need an Instrumentation Technician to maintain and calibrate control systems, sensors, and PLCs across our LNG facility maintenance contracts. Shift work is required, with a structured handover process between rotations to keep everything running safely and smoothly. It is a role for someone methodical and safety-conscious who is comfortable working from technical drawings and loop diagrams, and who can be relied upon to keep critical instrumentation performing exactly as it should across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Calibrate field instruments to manufacturer and client specifications
• Troubleshoot PLC and DCS faults and coordinate the necessary repairs
• Maintain accurate, complete calibration records for audit purposes
• Support planned maintenance shutdowns as scheduled
• Respond promptly to instrumentation faults raised during your shift
• Assist with commissioning of new instrumentation on plant upgrades
• Maintain spare parts stock levels for critical instrumentation

Requirements

• Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, or a related engineering field
• Experience calibrating field instruments and troubleshooting PLC/DCS systems
• Willing to work rotating shifts including weekends
• Comfortable working from technical drawings and loop diagrams
• Strong safety awareness in a live plant environment
