HSE Officer

MIRI PETRO SERVICES SDN BHD provides HSE consultancy, logistics coordination, and manpower supply to upstream operators along the Sarawak coast, with over 15 years of zero-LTI project delivery across its client portfolio. This is a role for an HSE professional who genuinely believes in the work and wants to make a visible difference to how safely people go home each day.

We're hiring an HSE Officer to support safety compliance across our logistics and manpower supply contracts, conducting site inspections, toolbox talks, and incident investigations across several client locations around Miri. It is an active, on-the-ground role for someone confident enough to stop unsafe work and diplomatic enough to bring crews along with them. You'll play a direct part in protecting our strong safety record and in reinforcing the culture that makes it possible in the first place.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine site safety audits and inspections across client locations
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety inductions for new and existing workers
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and prepare corrective action reports
• Maintain HSE documentation to keep every contract audit-ready
• Track outstanding corrective actions through to full closure
• Support permit-to-work reviews for high-risk activities
• Advise site supervisors on safe work practices for new task types
• Promote a positive, proactive safety culture on every site

Requirements

• NIOSH certification (Safety Officer) is required
• At least 2 years of HSE experience, oil and gas or industrial preferred
• Willing to travel regularly to client sites around Miri
• Confident delivering safety briefings to mixed skill-level crews
• Comfortable stopping unsafe work even when it is unpopular to do so
