We're seeking a Head of Academics to oversee curriculum quality and teaching standards across our primary and secondary sections. This is a senior leadership role responsible for over 60 teaching staff, with real influence over the school's academic direction. You'll lead curriculum planning, teacher development, and quality assurance while sitting on the senior leadership team. It suits a seasoned academic leader who can hold departments accountable to high standards, develop teachers effectively, and drive consistent, measurable improvement in student outcomes across the whole school.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee curriculum planning and academic quality assurance across all year groups
• Lead teacher performance reviews and professional development planning
• Represent the school in curriculum accreditation reviews
• Sit on and contribute to the school's senior leadership team
• Chair termly academic standards meetings with heads of department
• Approve assessment calendars across all year groups
• Address underperforming departments with a clear improvement plan

Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification in Education or a relevant discipline
• At least 7 years of teaching experience, with 3 years in academic leadership
• Experience with an international curriculum framework
• Strong people management and communication skills
• Comfortable holding department heads accountable to agreed standards
