Harvesting Supervisor

Niah Valley Oil Palm Estate is a mid-sized oil palm estate operating near the Niah area and supplying a regional mill. Harvesting is the true heartbeat of any estate — get the crews, the rounds, and the fruit quality right, and everything downstream runs smoothly — so our harvesting supervisors are treated as key operational leaders rather than simply crew minders. We need a Harvesting Supervisor to coordinate daily harvesting crews and ensure fruit quality standards are consistently met before mill delivery. It is a hands-on field leadership role for someone who genuinely knows plantation operations and can get the very best out of a daily labour force in demanding conditions. You'll own the harvesting round, the daily output, and the quality of the fresh fruit bunches that ultimately reach the mill and determine the estate's returns.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily harvesting crew assignments, rounds, and field allocation
• Check fruit ripeness and quality against the mill's acceptance standards
• Track harvesting output against agreed daily and monthly targets
• Manage crew attendance, discipline, welfare, and overall productivity
• Ensure correct harvesting tools, methods, and safety practices are followed
• Coordinate the prompt collection and transport of fruit to the mill
• Report field issues, crop conditions, and shortfalls to the estate manager
• Train and guide new harvesters on estate standards and safe practice

Requirements

• At least 2 years of plantation supervisory experience
• Sound practical knowledge of oil palm harvesting quality standards
• Comfortable managing and motivating daily field labour crews
• Physically fit and willing to be based on-estate
• Basic record-keeping and reporting ability
