Full Stack Developer (Contract)

Rejang Tech Hub is a small, remote-first dev shop based in Sibu, building internal tools for trading and plantation companies across central Sarawak. We have a strong preference for hiring contractors who can genuinely work independently against clear milestones, and we keep the process light so builders can focus on building. It is a good fit for an experienced developer who values autonomy, clear scope, and remote flexibility over the structure and overhead of a large organisation.

This is a four-month contract building an inventory management system for a plantation client. It is fully remote, with milestone-based deliverables rather than fixed hours, and a single weekly sync to keep everyone aligned. We want someone who can take an outcome, run with it independently, and communicate clearly about progress and risks along the way. If you deliver well, there is a genuine pipeline of similar contract work with us beyond this engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Build both the API and the admin dashboard for the inventory system
• Work from agreed milestones rather than fixed daily hours
• Join a weekly check-in call with the client and project lead
• Write clear basic documentation for client-side handover
• Flag scope risks and dependencies early against the agreed milestone plan
• Test the system against the client's actual inventory workflows before handover
• Provide a short handover walkthrough for the client's staff

Requirements

• At least 4 years of full stack experience, such as React with Node or similar
• Able to work independently against milestones with minimal supervision
• A portfolio of shipped production projects
• Comfortable estimating and communicating realistic delivery dates
• Reliable communicator who flags problems early rather than late
