Frontend Developer (React)

SarawakByte Solutions is a small web and mobile development studio serving oil and gas contractors and retailers around Miri. We deliberately keep our teams lean so that every developer gets real ownership over what they ship, rather than working through endless layers of account managers and product owners. It is a studio where good work is visible almost immediately, and where developers are trusted to talk to clients and make sensible calls without waiting for permission at every step.

We need a Frontend Developer who can turn Figma designs into clean, responsive React interfaces without much hand-holding, working directly with clients on requirements rather than through a thick middle layer of project management. Because it is a small studio, you'll typically see your work go live within days rather than quarters, and you'll have a direct hand in shaping both how things look and how they actually behave for real users on real projects.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain client-facing dashboards and booking systems in React and TypeScript
• Translate Figma designs into pixel-accurate, fully responsive interfaces
• Work directly with clients on feature requests, clarifications, and bug reports
• Write component and integration tests for critical booking and payment flows
• Occasionally travel to client sites in and around Miri for requirements gathering
• Optimise page load performance for clients on low-bandwidth site connections
• Debug and resolve cross-browser rendering issues reported by client users
• Document reusable component patterns for the studio's shared UI library

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on React experience, with TypeScript strongly preferred
• Comfortable talking to non-technical clients directly and clarifying requirements
• Own transport for occasional site visits around the Miri area
• A portfolio of shipped, production-grade React work
• Able to work independently without close supervision on day-to-day tasks
