E-commerce Systems Executive

Baram Data Systems is a small systems integration shop in Miri, increasingly focused on helping local retailers move their storefronts online as more and more customers shift to shopping digitally. We sit at the practical intersection of retail and technology, and this role is central to that growing part of our business. It suits someone who enjoys both the technical configuration side and the client-facing side of getting a real shop trading successfully online.

We're hiring an E-commerce Systems Executive to manage and configure Shopify and WooCommerce storefronts for our retail clients, from catalogue setup right through to payment gateway integration, with a fair amount of direct client contact throughout. It is a varied role that blends hands-on platform work with advisory conversations, ideal for someone organised who can juggle several client stores at once and genuinely wants to help local businesses succeed in selling online.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Shopify and WooCommerce storefronts for retail clients
• Set up product catalogues, pricing rules, and shipping configurations accurately
• Integrate payment gateways and test checkout flows thoroughly end to end
• Troubleshoot storefront issues reported by client staff
• Advise clients on basic conversion, layout, and merchandising improvements
• Coordinate with our developer on custom theme and functionality changes
• Monitor storefront uptime and escalate outages promptly

Requirements

• At least 1 year configuring Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar platforms
• Basic HTML and CSS for storefront theme tweaks
• Comfortable liaising directly with non-technical retail clients
• Organised enough to juggle several client storefronts at once
• Good eye for a clean, usable online shopping experience
