Drilling Engineer

BINTULU LNG SUPPORT SDN BHD has supported LNG facility operations and maintenance in Bintulu since 2003, working across onshore and nearshore drilling campaigns for upstream clients with a strong, consistent emphasis on safety compliance. This is a role for an experienced engineer who wants to work on real campaigns with a company that takes both engineering rigour and safety genuinely seriously.

We're seeking an experienced Drilling Engineer to join our operations team supporting onshore and nearshore drilling campaigns. This is a rotational role based out of our Bintulu office, with periodic offshore deployment as active campaigns require. You'll be involved in the full cycle of well planning, execution monitoring, and post-well analysis, working closely with rig contractors and client representatives. It suits someone who can make sound technical calls under real time pressure while keeping safety and compliance front and centre.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and monitor drilling programmes, well design, and mud engineering
• Liaise closely with rig contractors and client representatives on daily operations
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and technical requirements throughout each campaign
• Prepare accurate daily drilling reports and thorough post-well analysis
• Review contractor performance against agreed KPIs and cost targets
• Support well planning meetings with technical input on offset well data
• Escalate non-productive time issues to the operations manager promptly
• Coordinate with logistics on equipment and personnel mobilisation timing

Requirements

• Degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of drilling engineering experience, offshore preferred
• Valid offshore survival certification (BOSIET), or willingness to obtain it
• Strong working knowledge of relevant industry technical standards
• Able to make sound technical calls under time pressure on active wells
