Building Inspector

Sarikei Housing Development Bhd develops and builds affordable housing schemes across the Sarikei division, with quality control treated as a distinct function separate from the site construction team. Keeping that independence matters, because it means our inspectors can flag defects honestly without pressure to wave work through. It is a solid role for a thorough, conscientious inspector who takes real pride in build quality, is comfortable holding firm on standards, and wants to help deliver homes that families can genuinely rely on for years to come.

We need a Building Inspector to check work quality against approved drawings and local authority requirements across our housing development sites, from foundation right through to final handover. You'll log defects, track rectification, and support handover inspections with unit purchasers. It suits a diligent inspector who understands that catching problems early protects both the buyer and the company's reputation, and who is comfortable maintaining a firm, well-documented line on quality even when it slows a handover down in the short term.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect completed works against approved drawings and specifications
• Log defects and track rectification with the site team
• Verify compliance with local authority building requirements
• Prepare clear inspection reports for management review
• Support handover inspections with unit purchasers
• Maintain a defects register across all active housing blocks
• Flag recurring defect types back to the site and design teams

Requirements

• Diploma in Building, Construction, or a related field
• At least 2 years of site inspection experience
• Familiar with local authority building requirements
