Assistant Preschool Teacher

Samarahan Little Explorers Learning Centre is a registered preschool near UNIMAS, growing its teaching team to keep class sizes small as enrolment steadily increases. We need an Assistant Preschool Teacher to support the lead teacher in our 4 to 6 year old classroom, helping with daily activities and classroom management throughout the school day. You'll assist with activities, supervise play, help with routines, and step in during the lead teacher's short absences. It suits a caring, patient, and reliable person who loves working with young children, is willing to learn and undergo basic child safety training, and would enjoy growing their skills within a warm, supportive early-childhood teaching team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher with daily classroom activities
• Help supervise children during outdoor and free-play time
• Assist with meal-time and nap-time routines
• Prepare classroom materials ahead of lessons
• Step in to manage the classroom during the lead teacher's short absences
• Help maintain a safe, tidy, and welcoming classroom
• Give young children extra care and attention when needed

Requirements

• SPM or equivalent; an Early Childhood Education certificate is an advantage
• Patient and caring approach with young children
