Assistant HSE Manager

Safety leadership is central to our value to clients, and this role carries real influence over how our safety programme develops across multiple sites. It suits an experienced HSE professional ready to step up into a leadership role, mentor others, and help standardise strong safety practice across a growing portfolio.

We're hiring an Assistant HSE Manager to support the HSE Manager across our Miri and Bintulu client contracts, with regular travel between both sites and real input into how the safety programme evolves. You'll review risk assessments, lead major investigations, mentor site-based HSE Officers, and represent the company at client safety committees. It is a genuine leadership step for someone with strong technical HSE foundations who wants to shape culture and standards across sites rather than focus on a single location.

Key responsibilities

• Support the HSE Manager on multi-site safety programme delivery
• Review and approve site-specific risk assessments
• Lead incident investigations for major near-misses and incidents
• Prepare monthly HSE performance reports for client review
• Mentor and develop site-based HSE Officers across both locations
• Represent the company at client safety committee meetings
• Standardise HSE procedures across the Miri and Bintulu contracts

Requirements

• NIOSH certification with at least 5 years of HSE experience
• Prior experience managing safety across multiple sites
• Willing to travel regularly between Miri and Bintulu
• Strong report-writing and presentation skills
• Comfortable mentoring less experienced HSE Officers, including remotely
