SEMENGGOH BUILDERS SDN BHD runs an in-house design team supporting its residential and commercial fit-out projects across Kuching, giving architects unusually close visibility into how their designs actually get built. Because design and construction sit under one roof, our architects see their concepts through to site rather than handing drawings off and losing sight of them. We're hiring an Architect to develop design concepts and construction documentation for our projects, working closely with our in-house engineering team from concept right through to site coordination. You'll take briefs from concept to authority submission, coordinate with structural and M&E consultants, and visit site to keep the build true to the design intent. It suits an architect who enjoys both the creative and the technical sides of the work, and who wants the satisfaction of seeing their designs built well rather than compromised.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design concepts from client brief through to construction documentation
• Coordinate design integration with structural and M&E consultants
• Prepare authority submission drawings
• Review shop drawings for design compliance
• Attend client design review meetings and present concepts
• Visit site periodically to check the design intent is being followed
• Resolve design queries raised by the construction team

Requirements

• Degree in Architecture, registered with LAM, or Part 2 with plans to register
• At least 3 years of design and documentation experience
• Proficient in Revit or AutoCAD and rendering software
• Comfortable defending design decisions to both clients and contractors
• Strong eye for detail and buildability
